1998 Atsushi Horie (Vo/G) and Shinpei Nakayama (Dr) formed Straightener. 2003 Hidekazu Hinata (B) joined the band, and the band debuts.
The powerful and spark-flying live performances by the three members received much favorable reviews. The band’s constant release of songs has provided much inspiration to the music scene, and living up to its reputation, the band has developed to become one of the best bands in Japan.
In 2007, the band accomplished 53 performances covering 47 prefectures and cities in Japan, including a performance at Makuhari Messe.
In 2008, the band started its full-fledged performances at various summer festivals and it soon started to perform as a lead band at numerous festivals.
On October 1 of the same year, Jun Ooyama joined the band as a guitarist.
The new four-member band released its first album “Nexus” in February 2002 (the album reached top 5 on ORICON Weekly Chart).
The band’s perpetual quest for new creations and its drive to actively seek opportunities to perform live have been continuing with full force.
For its tour final on May 8, the band performed for the first time at Budoukan.
