Ryujin started writing his original songs at the age of 15. His life was set to change when many people in the music industry later took notice of his songs written by him during the summer when he was 16.
During the summer of 2006, when Ryujin was 16, he competed in the national high school band competition “TEENS ROCK IN HITACHINAKA 2006”. He comes in first place and is given, as part of the winning prize, an opportunity to perform at the ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL held during the same year.
Two days before Ryujin’s 18th birthday, he performed live in Tokyo for the first time. Hearing rumors of his performance, over 20 companies from the music industry came to watch his performance, and they all fervently sought for him.
After a short while, Ryujin was asked to provide a song to be used for the movie “Cyborg She”. This was a rare offer given by its director, Jae-young Kwak (“My Sassy Girl”), himself who heard Ryujin’s demo tape.
After turning 19, Ryujin started recording and in March/April of 2009, he debuted with his single “Morning Sun”. This song which was selected to be used for a commercial for “au Smart Sports” had aired nationally on 75% of the FM radio stations and all CS music channel stations on a continuous basis. Much attention has been given to his increased popularity.
On March 25, he released his debut album “PHILOSOPY”
